Terms of Service

Last updated: 19 October 2026

1. Who we are

Gusto Science (gusto.science) is provided by Grythyttan Culinary Science & Innovation AB, company reg. no. 556653-6818, Tavastgatan 35, 118 24 Stockholm, Sweden ("we", "us"). Contact: support@gusto.science.

2. The service

Gusto Science is a research platform for gastronomy, food and meal science. Research usually reports what was found. How it is done in practice and when it matters in a real situation are often left to the discussion section. Gusto Science starts from the concrete situation where knowledge is used and makes those dimensions visible, so researchers and professionals can see the effect of research beyond their own field (see Our approach). The service includes:

We are developing further features, including tools that show where research from different fields converges, diverges or leaves gaps, tools that help design studies to explore those gaps, and the possibility for researchers and professionals to build their own networks through the service. New features may be offered under additional terms.

All analyses are aids to your own judgement, not a replacement for reading the original research (see §6). How the analyses are made, and their limitations, are described at gusto.science/foundation.

3. Accounts

You need an account for some features. You must give a valid e-mail address and keep your login private. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or have a guardian's consent, to buy Pro.

4. Pro subscription, prices and VAT

5. Right of withdrawal (consumers in the EU/EEA)

As a consumer in the EU/EEA you have the right to withdraw from your purchase of Pro within 14 days, without giving a reason. When you buy, you ask us to give you access to Pro immediately. If you withdraw within the 14 days, we refund what you paid, minus a proportionate amount for the days you had access. To withdraw, e-mail support@gusto.science from your account e-mail address. You may use the EU model withdrawal form, but you do not have to. We refund you within 14 days of receiving your notice, using the same payment method you used to pay.

6. AI-generated content

Analyses, summaries, questions and answers on Gusto Science are generated by AI models from article metadata and abstracts, not from full texts. They are not peer-reviewed, they are not routinely checked by a person, and we have not yet published validation data. They can contain errors or omissions. Retracted or corrected articles may remain in the library. The analyses are not professional, medical, nutritional or food-safety advice. Always check the original article before you rely on a finding, and follow applicable food-safety rules. The method and its known limitations are described at gusto.science/foundation.

7. Research content and intellectual property

8. Acceptable use

You may not misuse the service. This includes automated access beyond normal use, attempts to bypass usage limits or payment, attacks on our systems, and sharing a Pro account with others.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep Gusto Science available and accurate, but we cannot guarantee it is uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or remove features. If we make a material change that reduces what Pro includes, you can cancel and get a pro-rata refund for the unused part of a paid period.

10. Liability

We are liable for damage caused by our negligence, to the extent mandatory law requires. Otherwise our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost profit or decisions you made based on the content. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.

11. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close a paid account without cause, we refund the unused part of the period.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will tell you about material changes by e-mail or in the service at least 30 days before they apply. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply.

13. Governing law and disputes

Swedish law applies. Disputes are settled by Swedish courts, with Stockholm District Court as the first instance. Consumers can also turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN, arn.se). If you live in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws there.
